New for 2010 are performance enhancements to CP Cases' SatRack range, its full 19-inch rack and half-rack solution for portable satellite equipment, increasing resilience and portability whilst decreasing wait for order fulfilment.
- New elastomeric mounts for increased resistance to shock/vibration damage in transit
- New internal chassis from hi-performance aluminium alloy, increasing resilience in the field
- Same internal chassis across entire range of CP Cases Racks, reducing wait between order and fulfilment
Growing in popularity with flyaway news gathering teams (and others) who need their electronic equipment to arrive at their destination when they do, CP Cases' SatRack was originally developed in close consultation with Vislink plc in 2008, to meet project requirements for a protective rack solution to house portable satellite equipment whilst conforming to IATA constraints for commercial airline checked-in baggage.
SatRack with the frequently used, 4U x 480 mm internal chassis weighs only 8 kg, allowing an additional 24 kg of equipment to be fitted. The IATA weight restriction is 32 kg. As carry-friendly, checked in baggage, SatRack saves both time and additional baggage charges.
Every aspect of SatRack is designed to achieve maximum strength v weight ratio: a super-lightweight aluminium chassis floats on elastomeric mounts within honeycomb polypropylene shell. The bodyshell is cushioned by a foam jacket for additional insulation, which also makes SatRack more "carry-friendly". The outer cover in heavyweight texturised nylon, is weatherproof and abrasion resistant. A long side handle facilitates level carrying for unevenly balanced loads.
SatRack is currently successfully deployed by leading electronic news gathering organisations and the military, including BBC, Sky, ABC, CBC News, Vislink and Qinetiq.
Available in full 19-inch rack and half-rack sizes, with a range of options to suit individual requirements.
