The Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) has issued a last call for entries for its prestigious annual Achievement Awards. If you know someone who has done great work within the fields of engineering or technology, don't let that work go unacknowledged – submitting a nomination is quick and easy.
Sponsored by RS, Transport for London, BP and GCHQ, the IET Achievement Awards recognise the exceptional achievements of individuals working in the engineering and technology profession, from the well-known scientist to the fledgling engineer.
Categories include the highly acclaimed Faraday Medal, awarded for notable scientific or industrial achievement in engineering and the Mountbatten Medal, which is awarded in partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineering and the British Computer Society, to recognise a significant contribution in the field of electronics or information technology that benefits the UK.
Students and those in the early stages of their engineering careers are recognised through categories such as the Sir Henry Royce Medal, which is awarded to a young engineer, IT professional or industrial trainee for outstanding achievement in the previous year, or the William James Award for PhD students making a contribution toward the development of biomedical engineering.
Candidates for the IET Achievement Awards have to be nominated by a third-party so take a look at the categories and download a nomination form today. Winners are matched to awards by the committee, so only one nomination is required for a nominee to be considered for all appropriate awards.
The closing date for entries is Monday 31 May unless otherwise stated. The winners are chosen by the IET Awards and Prizes Committee for presentation at an exclusive awards ceremony that will take place in Central London on Wednesday 24 November.
