Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited (UPSL), the UK provider of power protection solutions, today announced it will be renamed 'Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited, A Kohler Company',before launching its totally new website and embarking on a global expansion programme later this month.

The programme, which is already in development, will see the first international office open in Singapore in May. Other new locations are also planned for 2010, with China, India and the Middle East all initially being targeted.

The statement follows Kohler Global Power Group's acquisition of the UK based UPS and generator specialist in September 2008 and signals the American giant's entry into the European power
protection market.

UPSL managing director, David Bond, commented on the decision: "Since joining the Kohler family we have spent a great deal of time identifying the right direction for the company and examining its
position within the global UPS market. Moving forward, our strategy will see some challenging goals being set, including opening up several new international markets and increasing the company's
turnover tenfold in the next five years. However, despite these demanding targets, we are extremely confident we have the products and infrastructure to meet our objectives and significantly increase
UPSL's market share, both in the domestic market and abroad.

"We are also delighted to bring Yu Ming Tan onboard as our Southeast Asia general manager. Based in Singapore, he brings with him a wealth of industry and local knowledge, which is going to be invaluable in building the right team and offering customers a level of service only achievable through someone who truly understands the region's business culture."

Talking about the expansion plans, Yu Ming Tan, remarked: "With the reputation Kohler Global Power Group brings to the table, the decision to reflect our parent's name in our international branding will undoubtedly make it much easier for consumers to recognise and distinguish our advanced product range. Looking specifically at Singapore, it's vital we create clear blue water between the Kohler UPS brand and its competitors – we feel Kohler's history, combined with our product and service offering will ensure we can achieve this."

Forming the base for all the company's Southeast Asia operations, UPSL's new Singapore office is set to open in May and will offer the full range of business UPS and generator systems.
