Quick and easy lamp selection

Electrical Review Logo

Osram has restructured its range of Dulux compact fluorescent lamps with pin bases in order to meet professional lighting requirements even more effectively. In addition, the lifetime and efficiency of the lamps has been improved. The range has been split into three categories based on the key benefits of each product and the packaging has been updated to clearly display each lamp's unique feature. Thanks to this new segmentation, choosing the right light for any application has never been easier.

These lamps have been designed for applications where high quality light must meet specific demands. The XT lamp series is ideal for hard-to-reach light fittings thanks to a lifetime of up to 36,000 hours. Dulux HE (high efficiency) lamps provide the ultimate effectiveness for interior lighting with 30% greater luminous efficacy than conventional lamps . Other top performers include the De Luxe lamps that provide superior colour rendition, the Dulux L SP lamp which is optimised for low temperatures, and the Dulux L Constant lamp that performs well at both low and high temperatures.

‘The Advanced' – Lamps in this category satisfy sophisticated demands for light quality. With a long lifetime of 20,000 hours as well as low installation, energy consumption and replacement costs, the Dulux S/E, D/E, T/E Plus and L lamps are intended for applications where long operating periods are the norm.

For applications where the simplest solution is often the best and there are no special requirements, the technical standard is usually sufficient. With an average lifetime of 10,000 hours, Osram's Dulux S, D, T Plus, F and CFL Square are the best lamps for these applications which include stairwell, hallway and foyer lighting.

In addition to reclassifying the lamps into three new categories, the packaging has been redesigned to make it easier to select the appropriate lamp. The major benefit of each lamp (such as high efficiency or long lifetime) will be prominently displayed on the packaging alongside details such as output, lumens, light colour, and control gear required. A colour code system with three shades of green also ensures even greater clarity – ranging from dark green for the highest quality lamps to green for high quality lamps and light green for standard applications.
