Cost effective solution for Subsea

Electrical Review Logo

Over 2,500 luminaires from Riegens Lighting have provided a cost effective and  environmentally effective solution for the illumination of Subsea 7's office development in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

The 17300sqm office complex incorporates various energy efficient elements, including daylight linking in the cellular and open plan offices, which have contributed towards the buildings ‘Very Good BREEAM' rating.

Riegens luminaires have been installed in all office areas including cellular and open plan work spaces and communal spaces and break-out areas.

Kevin Donkin, senior design engineer with KJ Tait Engineers, commented "The Riegens luminaires provided the technical performance we were looking for and matched the aesthetic desires of the client and architect, whilst providing an extremely cost effective and environmentally effective solution.

The construction programme was tight and, owing to our previous experience of dealing with Riegens, we could be sure that the products we had selected would be delivered on time. We were also very impressed that there were no failures on any of the 2500 light fittings following installation- this in itself is a noteworthy achievement".

The selection of luminaires followed a very detailed analysis of products from various manufacturers by KJ Tait Engineers – designers on the project.

The majority of luminaires used for the project were from Riegens Arbos and Concido ranges. Arbos provides a pleasing indirect illumination from its twin light source, each contained within a perforated unit. Its simple, yet elegant appearance ensures it will blend in with most interior décor whilst providing the desired visual environment. Concido is a comprehensive family of downlighters that utilise a wide range of decorative and technical attachments to provide a stylish and efficient solution to any interior application.
