Flexicon has launched a range of easy to fit time delay switches for simple lighting and other power control.
There are four products in the range, a pneumatic timer, and three electronic timers; the Eco timer, the Premier timer and an IP66 weatherproof version. All electronic timers have an adjustable time setting using a thumbwheel and a LED light so that they can be located in the dark. The electronic timers feature a large push pad, which makes it easy to operate the device for Part M compliance.
The entire range has two wires with no neutral required. They are rated at 16A and will switch incandescent, fluorescent and compact fluorescent lamps or other loads. The indoor timers have a shallow profile and will fit into a 16mm or standard BS single gang accessory box and can replace existing wall switches for a simple energy saving solution.
The IP66 weatherproof electronic timer is also simple to fit. It has knockouts on every face and can be used with Flexicon's conduit system.
You can adjust the Pneumatic time delay switch to between 10 seconds and 10 minutes, the Eco timer to between 5 seconds and 20 minutes and the Premier and weatherproof timers to between 5 seconds and 2 hours.
Says Colin Legg, marketing manager for Flexicon; "There is a big drive to reduce electrical consumption at the moment. Lighting is one of the most significant loads in a building, it can account for up to 70 percent of the electricity consumed. These products provide a simple and cost effective means of reducing this consumption. They are ideal for staircases, hallways and corridors where lighting may otherwise be left on."
