Return of Southern Manufacturing

The Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show returns to FIVE, Farnborough on the 10 and 11 of February 2010. The organiser, European Trade & Exhibition Services (ETES), is hopeful the 2010 event will repeat the success of the sell-out 2009 show.

With recent surveys showing returning manufacturing confidence, the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show provides a focus for that activity in the south of the UK. The show brings together around 500 top suppliers, between them catering for virtually every kind of industrial activity. Last year's exhibition area covered nearly 3,500m² and attracted in excess of 5000 visitors over two days.

Show director, Phil Valentine, believes attending the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show should be a high priority for industrial SMEs keen to maximise opportunities for growth in 2010. "It has been a difficult year, but there are now real signs of recovery within manufacturing. As inventories are being restocked and production lines restarted, there is renewed demand for components and services such as fabrication and machining; development work on new products is stimulating demand for high-tech services such as rapid prototyping." With much of this requirement being serviced by the UK's small engineering enterprises, the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics is the natural forum for those opportunities to be explored.

"Southern Manufacturing & Electronics is the only show of its kind in the UK," says Valentine, "No other event delivers the chance to meet such a broad range of companies in a single visit, nor for exhibitors to bring their services to the attention of some of the UK's biggest buyers." The Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show is co-located with Auto Aero 2010, a show dedicated to specialist aerospace/automotive engineering. Many key aerospace businesses are located in the area, making Auto Aero an extremely convenient marketplace for buyers and suppliers to meet.

Along with a diversity of companies on show, Southern Manufacturing & Electronics also offers a free technical seminar programme running over both days of the event. The seminar sessions offer visitors the chance to hear experts deliver practical advice and guidance in areas such as Lean, Six Sigma, new materials and processes, business legislation and many more.

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics opens on the 10 and 11 of February. Entry to the show and the technical seminars is free, and FIVE Farnborough offers plentiful free car parking, superb access by road, rail or air, and an excellent selection of local hotels and restaurants to make your visit as enjoyable as it is productive.
