Festival goers protected

A cable and hose protection system from Lewden Electrical Industries was used recently at  the Shoreditch Festival to safeguard visitors and protect electrical cables. Produced by the Shoreditch Trust, the annual event is the highlight of the East London cultural calendar and is a celebration of art and culture.

The event took place in the newly renovated Shoreditch Park and highlights included World in Motion day, a large scale creative collaboration between The Trust, The Barbican Centre and Guildhall School. The Shoreditch Festival Parade, included an eclectic musical line-up of amazing acts on the main stage along with a Proms in the Park firework finale with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in attendance.

Lewden's highly visible cable protector was supplied by Ipswich  based Midas Productions (UK) who supplied all site power, mains and distribution, and needed to ensure that any cables coming from the main stage were protected and did not create a hazard to the large number of visitors who attended the event. Suitable for foot or heavy vehicle traffic, the protection system is of a hard polyurethane construction and is extremely robust and weather-proof.

Available in 2, 3, 4 or 5 channel protection, the system provides a quick and easy solution for placing and removing cables. Incorporating a heavy duty "T" connector, the interlocking modular sections will not break, deform or deteriorate.

Commenting on the installation, Midas's David Noble said "We use Lewden's cable protection for a number of events as it is efficient whilst being quick and simple to install".
