50th sales counter opens

This month Toolstation celebrates the opening of its 50th sales counter and a brand new central distribution centre, showing continued steady growth in the face of the recession.

Located in York on Audax Road, Clifton Moor, the 50th sales counter is a key milestone in the expansion of the low-cost trade supplier and is on target with its plan to have 80 sales counters nationwide. In Redditch, a new 140,000 sq. ft. distribution centre at Arrow Valley will support the growing number of sales counters.  Toolstation's operations director, Adam Keates said, " It takes over from the Bridgwater site as the company's main retail replenishment centre, ensuring all of our 10,000-plus products lines continue to be available as stock items at all branches."

These investments come in parallel with the launch of Toolstation's latest catalogue 30, which sees 500 new products added.  It is its most significant product increase yet, giving customers a wider brand choice across a broad product range from screws, fixings and sealants through to lighting, electrical, plumbing, janitorial and ground maintenance equipment.

Toolstation continues to be one of Britain's fastest growing multi-channel businesses.  The multi-channel approach means that its regional sales counters are integrated with its mail order catalogue and online catalogue (www.toolstation.com).  Customers can therefore use any combination of channels to order and receive – by phone, web or at a branch – and can collect the item or have it delivered.  This releases time to customers as orders and deliveries can be tailored to suit schedules and locations so valuable working time is not lost.

Customer orders placed online or by telephone before 5.00pm are despatched for delivery next business day with free delivery as standard on orders over £10. A price match guarantee across all ranges also ensures that prices are kept permanently low.
