Andromeda flying high in Dublin

Andromeda has commenced work at Dublin Airport Terminal 2, a project which sees it extend its airports portfolio, and establish itself as a key player in Ireland.

The project, which is currently in the design phase, includes integrated lighting controls in the main terminal building, covering the check-in, immigration and baggage areas. The system will also extend to the 450m long pier with its 11 gates, and the energy centre, which generates chilled and hot water for the campus.

The new terminal, which aims to take customer experience to a new level through innovative lighting and interior design, has been awarded to Andromeda by Mercury Engineering on the back of their extensive airport experience, and will be the second project to be completed in Ireland after The O2, Dublin, the largest purpose-built music venue in Europe.

Graham Boaler, project director at Andromeda, states: "Dublin T2 marks an important step forward for Andromeda is extending our already successful airports portfolio. This includes Manchester Airport as well as our ongoing work with BAA at Heathrow on T5, T1, T3 and T4".

Commissioning is due to commence imminently, with completion set for November 2009.
