Black dimmers have the right combination

Electrical Review Logo

Hamilton Litestat's new range of trailing edge dimmers has been added to the recently launched Linea Piano Black electrical accessory range to enhance operational performance.

This new plate range features Hamilton's concealed fixing system, along with split finishes that combine a bright chrome edge and matching rockers with a high gloss black face plate to replicate the black lacquered finishes currently in vogue.

The new trailing edge dimmers include: push on/push off dimmers, Touch Master Multi-way dimmers and Touch Slave Controllers. These single or double gang plates can accommodate between1 to 4 dimmer modules. Being virtually noise free and compatible with most electronic transformers, these dimmers have incorporated a soft start system to produce a slow fade-out that helps to prevent lamp damage. Being based on trailing edge technology these dimmers will work to their maximum without having to be de-rated. This capability enables them to dim 1000w when mounted four-up on a double gang plate.

These Hamilton dimmers have the advantage of thermal protection and built-in overload protection which prevents them being damaged in an overload situation. Also, by featuring unidirectional current detection these dimmers are able to protect themselves against a ‘high in rush current' which is caused when a lamp blows.
