New automatic transfer switch from Crompton Instruments is easy to program

Electrical Review Logo

The new Crompton Instruments SWITCH-ATS automatic transfer switch from Tyco Electronics is designed to monitor the incoming AC mains signal for three phase and single phase applications. Microprocessor technology allows exact measurement, set point adjustment and timing functions with the parameters to be simply programmed and displayed from the front panel. In the event of a mains voltage failure of any phase, the remote start relay output is energized and the unit automatically transfers the load from the mains to the generator.

The switch is designed for use with Crompton Instruments controllers but the flexibility allows the product to also interface directly with a range of generator control systems. A 10mm 4-digit red LED display clearly shows the mains voltage, alternator voltage and program parameters on the front panel of the SWITCH-ATS automatic transfer switch. In addition, several status LED indicators display the current operating status of the device.

Technical details of the product include an operating temperature range from -25 up to +70 degrees Celsius, protection class IP65 to front panel and mains and generator voltage accuracy of 31% FS. The measuring range for mains and generator voltage is 35 up to 300V and a frequency range from 15.6 up to 99.9Hz.
