The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, more commonly known as RoSPA, presented Giffen Group Plc one of its prestigious Occupational Health & Safety awards. The Gold Award was presented at a special ceremony at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham on Thursday 24 May 2007.
Dave Rawlings, RoSPA Awards Manager, said “Giffen Group Plc has demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organisations following their lead”.
The RoSPA awards follow two clear aims; reducing the numbers of accidents and ill health at work, alongside recognising organisations that have strong health and safety management systems in place.
The President of RoSPA, Baroness Anne Gibson of Market Rasen, Deputy President Lord Jordan of Bournville and Vice-President, Lord Brougham & Vaux hosted the Gala dinner for representatives of award winning organisations at the Hilton Metropole, with entertainment by top comedian Jimmy Carr.
