A range of Newlec cable management products has recently been on an earth-saving mission in ‘Sunshine’, the latest blockbuster film from Fox Searchlight and British based DNA films.
Over £5,000 worth of cable management stock including cable trays, trunking and channel accessories were used to create Icarus II, the spaceship on a mission to stop the sun from dying.
Production designer Mark Tildesley says: “When I was building Icarus II I had to consider not only how the products were going to look; but also how durable they would be. Filming lasted 18 months so we had to make sure whatever we used was going to last the distance.”
Caren Rawlins, brand manager for Newlec says: “We are proud to support this great film. This just goes to show that Newlec products are versatile, they are high quality and can be used in a wide array of settings, including a Hollywood film. We are hoping that this won’t be the last time Newlec plays a starring role!”
