London – August, 16th, 2006 – The AMP NETCONNECT business unit of Tyco Electronics has introduced the SL Series AMP-TWIST range of shielded modular jacks.

The new range has been designed to mitigate the alien crosstalk often found in high-speed networking applications. With an integrated cable cutting blade arrangement and intuitive two-piece construction, these shielded modular jacks provide quick installation and can simplify shield termination.

Further benefits include rugged construction, a slim profile to accommodate high outlet densities, and the fact that the connectors are reusable.

SL Series AMP-TWIST shielded modular jacks are compliant with current and proposed system architectures and are suitable for a wide range of network applications including 10 Gbit/s Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 and 100BASE-TX, token ring, 155 Mbit/s ATM, 100 Mbit/s TP-PMD, ISDN, video (analogue and digital), analogue voice and digital voice (VoIP).

Other features of SL Series AMP-TWIST modular jacks include integrated cable strain relief and optional dust covers. In addition to modular jacks, accompanying products such as patch panels, cable and patch cords are available.
