AB Connectors Ltd, the leading UK based connector manufacturer, which is part of TT electronics plc, is launching a new naval connector featuring shells made from marine bronze to significantly improve corrosion resistance.

The new MK35 connector has been developed from the American Mil – C – 38999 Series III specification and is interchangeable with the standard connector. It is fully ‘scoop proof’ and features a triple-start coarse thread coupling mechanism with a self-locking anti-vibration device. Further benefits are provided by the crimp rear-removable contacts, which are protected from mating damage by restricted entry. In addition, on coupling the seal is assured by bringing together the respective inserts of plug and socket.

Harvey Preston, Managing Director of AB Connectors Ltd, comments: “The MK35 connector considerably improves resistance to corrosion and extends the life of previous models. The connector enhances AB Connectors’ extensive product range for the naval market and builds on the MK22, MK18 and MK38 families of products, which are used by major navies around the world. AB Connectors has been the leading manufacturer of naval connectors for over two decades and innovative products such as the new MK35 will ensure we remain the world leader for many years to come.”

As the market leader of connectors and interconnection systems specifically designed to operate in harsh environments, where high performance and reliability are mandatory, AB Connectors is at the forefront of innovation and product development. It strives to meet customer requests, with feedback being used in the design process, and has considerably expanded its product range over recent years. Its connectors protect against extremes in temperature and humidity levels, as well as other environmental elements.
