AB Connectors launches improved engine connector

Electrical Review Logo

AB Connectors Ltd, the leading UK based connector manufacturer, which is part of TT electronics plc, is launching a new Single Pole connector in response to customer concerns that the insulators on existing designs are susceptible to thermal damage over long periods of time.

The AB Single Pole (ABSP) connector is typically used in high temperature and high current applications, for example, within the engine or Auxiliary Power Units of large military vehicles. The ABSP is capable of continuously delivering up to 600A at a temperature rating of 180?C and is voltage proof to 3KV. It also has an insulation resistance of 5k? and all standard variations are available as a stand alone product or as direct equivalents.

Reg Crook, Sales & Marketing Director at AB Connectors, comments: “The advancement of material technology has enabled us to solve the problem of cracking due to long-term thermal damage, which is a problem that has existed for many years. The new material we use in the Single Pole connector thermally outperforms other materials currently on the market and has allowed us to make significant progress in this key area.”

As the market leader of connectors and interconnection systems specifically designed to operate in harsh environments where high performance and reliability are mandatory, AB Connectors is at the forefront of innovation and product development. The company strives to meet customer requests, with feedback being used in the design process, and has considerably expanded its product range over recent years. Its connectors protect against extremes in temperature and humidity levels, as well as other environmental elements.
