Tyco Electronics now produces all its HTS industrial connectors according to the RoHS (Restriction-on-Hazardous-Substances) directive from the European Commission, well ahead of the directive’s activation date. All devices are manufactured featuring the same product specifications as before but now comply with the RoHS’ significant limitations on the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium.

The HTS industrial connectors’ unchanged specifications mean that customers do not need to amend any documentation, and the early implementation supports the environment as well as enabling customers to plan ahead reliably for their product designs.

Requiring an enduring conductive surface for EMC compliant applications such as packaging machinery, food-processing equipment and railway (rolling stock as well as signalling), the HTS industrial connectors are corrosion resistant according to IEC 68 T2-52 and feature a conductive but non-toxic, fully RoHS compliant and MIL approved surface with low surface-resistance (<0.8mOhm/cm²). Corresponding gaskets are also produced silicon free with added graphite to make them conductive.
