Following the Abacus Group’s recent agreement with 3M Electronics group, the company is introducing new Mini-Clamp and Link connectors to provide fast and simple connections in a more cost effective way than previous solutions. Designed specifically for factory automation advanced networking systems their versatility can be seen in a broad range of markets and applications requiring upto 4 wires using 20 to 26 AWG.

The new connectors incorporate 3M’s IDC technology to ensure high reliability without the need for any special tooling and alleviate the need for cable preparation such as stripping and tinning resulting in reduced assembly time and a saving in the overall applied cost.

The connectors have integrated guiding and fixing devices to provide reliable positioning of the individual wires, clear covers allow for visual inspection prior to termination, which is done simply using a pair of pliers. Polarising tabs ensure correct orientation with the mating connector and latching devices eliminate the risk of accidental disconnection even in extreme environments.
