Wieland Electric Ltd, the electrical connection specialists, have launched a new compact pluggable installation system – gesis®MINI. Complementing the latest slimline luminaires, gesis®MINI is the ideal solution for discrete lighting installations where space is at a premium.
The gesis system is perfect for use in retail design and exhibition construction as installations can be implemented with a small number of components. Even the most confined spaces are not a problem.
The system elements are pre-assembled and come with a mechanical coding system to prevent mismatching according to regulation standard VDE 0606 T200. An adaptor combines gesis MINI with gesis CON, providing an installation system with more than 5,000 components and unlimited applications.
The gesis® system is not implemented at low voltage level, but with a supply of 250V and 16A. As such, this versatile 3-pole mains connectors has the same current rating as the popular gesis GST18 connector but is only 70% of the size with a width of just 23mm.
The system cables and snap-in facility connect via screw and the connection is released easily with a screwdriver, allowing enormous reductions in installation time and costs. Retrofit can also be implemented quickly and easily.
The range includes ‘flat’ (12.4 mm high) re-wireable connectors with screw connection for cable diameters of 6.0 – 8.5mm; snap-in connectors for panel mounting; cable assemblies with both PVC and halogen free cable; as well as interface leads to combine gesisMINI and GST18.
As with all of the gesis range the live female contacts are finger-protected even when disconnected.
