LumExpress - lighting that lives up to its name

‘LumExpress’ (pronounced l??'-m-express) is Thorn Lighting’s new service programme for the distribution of popular luminaires through wholesalers. It is set to become the best and most recognised lighting product range at trade counters of electrical wholesalers all over Europe.

Commenting on the new service Thorn’s OTC (over the counter) marketing director, Jon Snell, says, ''Our aim is to draw closer to our distributor partners and electrical contractor customers and involve them with us in offering a better, faster service.''

Thorn’s current European product portfolios feature thousands of items that, perhaps unreasonably, customers often expect to find always at hand. This is, of course, impossible. So Thorn has carried out extensive research across Europe to identify the lighting products most critical to the electrical contractor and has come up with some 20 product families which customers can reasonably expect to find in wholesalers’stock. They include recessed and surface luminaires, waterproof and industrial units, emergency lighting, downlights, outdoor lighting and a broad range of T5 fluorescent products for all commercial and industrial applications. Indeed, LumExpress can probably cope with any lighting job.

Thanks to Thorn’s wholesaler distributorship policies these LumExpress stock products will be held by hundreds of distributors across Europe, supported and replenished from Thorn’s re-worked and SAP based logistics operation.

Products will be distinctively packaged to give strong visual appeal at trade counter level and a new catalogue and point of sale emblems will be supplied to distributors. Bright red and white will become instantly recognised as the colour combination which customers will see as synonymous with the range.
