Increasing legislation under The Noise at Work Regulations and the Environment Protection Act is necessitating generator manufacturers to develop ways of reducing noise from standby sets. Now, integrated power solutions company, Scorpion Power Systems, has launched the SuperQ Silent Canopy, an even more effective acoustic canopy, which will reduce noise levels by up to10dBA on standard acoustic canopies.
Launched in response to customer demand, the SuperQ Silent Canopy has been specially developed for extremely noise sensitive environments. There is no enlargement of the generator’s footprint size and unlike many other acoustic canopies; the SuperQ Silent Canopy allows easy accessibility to the generator for maintenance work to be carried out. A special maintainable anti-corrosion coating is applied to the canopy as standard and is capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions.
The launch of the acoustic canopy follows the introduction of a number of other new auxiliary products from Scorpion Power Systems, which include fuel oil bunds to meet The Control of Pollutions (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations and special security packs comprising of locking bars, padlocks and grills to protect generators from vandalism.
The new SuperQ Silent Canopy is available with all Scorpion high technology small, mid-range and large generators ranging from 0.5kVA to 2mVA. It will prove a welcome addition to companies operating in urban areas that are required to respond to growing legislation on noise pollution.
Based in Andover, Hampshire, Scorpion Power Systems has been at the forefront of producing high technology small, mid-range and large generators since 1982.
