CHECKBOX 16 ENSURES PART P ACCURACY

The Checkbox 16 from test instrument manufacturer Seaward Electronic Ltd. provides a simple and effective means of ensuring the in-service accuracy of electrical installation test instruments used as part of the new Part P compliance.

In accordance with NICEIC assessment procedures, the Checkbox 16 is designed to provide a convenient checker for earth loop testers, insulation continuity testers and RCCB testers. A lightweight and portable instrument, the new product is intended for use in the field to confirm the accuracy of installation tester readings whenever they are required.

The Checkbox 16 is compatible with most manufacturer’s 16th edition test equipment and offers precision test points for a variety of measurements including continuity, insulation check, test voltage, loop test, RCCB test and voltage levels.

As a result, although the Checkbox 16 is not designed to provide the basis of a complete calibration system, its regular use will ensure the functionality of test instruments and can form an important part of an effective Part P control system as defined by the NICEIC.

To assist contractors meet their installation testing obligations under Part P, Seaward also manufactures a range of hand held testers, including the IR800 insulation tester, digital multimeters and clampmeters.
