Engineers sought for recognition

The IEE is seeking outstanding engineers for its fifth annual Achievement Awards.

The IEE will present up to eight medals in recognition of significant contributions to any discipline within the scope of the institution, with a deadline of Friday 30 April 2005 to nominate candidates.

The JJ Thomson Medal will be awarded if a candidate has demonstrated outstanding work in the field of electronics theory, practice, development or manufacture. In addition, at least two medals will be presented to engineers aged less than 35 years and three manufacturing-based awards will be conferred.

An additional three manufacturing-based awards will also be conferred, including the IEE Sir Eric Mensforth International Gold Medal, The IEE Viscount Nuffield Silver Medal and The Tony Goldsmith Cup for an IEE member under 35-years-old.
