Electrical engineering company Vinci Energies United Kingdom is predicting a rosy future for a £4m turnover Nottingham electrical and mechanical firm after acquiring it from administration. Vinci bought The Ford Communications and Arthur Ford businesses from administrators Tenon on 1 October, securing 70 jobs at the Nottingham site.

The deal marked the culmination of negotiations between the two companies and the company will continue to offer the same quality service to its well-established client base under the name LB Ford.

David Fisher of Vinci Energies said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of the Arthur Ford and Ford Communications businesses. We have long admired the quality and reliability of their work and feel that their electrical installation and IT expertise fits neatly into our core offering, without duplication, so will prove an important addition to our UK business.”

The Vinci Group will also bring increased capability in areas such as high voltage, control systems and mechanical engineering services.

Vinci Energies employs 500 staff across 13 UK sites and generated revenues of £23m in 2003. In Europe, it has a workforce of 26,000 across 700 business units and a turnover last year of more than £2bn.
