Energywatch has taken a predictable approach to a price hike by British Gas and advised consumers to switch to cheaper suppliers. The price increase means British Gas consumers will see an average price rise of 12.4% on gas and 9.4% on electricity.
Ofgem this week confirmed the £700,000 fine for Powergen, after the supplier prevented over 20,000 consumers from switching to another electricity or gas company. The penalty was first announced in July (see Electrical Review, July 2004), following an investigation by the regulator
