Megger to outline the benefit of grid sensors for DSOs at Powered On Live 2024

At the upcoming Powered On Live 2024 event, Borzoo Mardani, Grid Performance Solutions (GPS) Territory Manager at Megger, will host a session focused on the application of grid sensors for distribution system operators (DSOs).

The talk will cover how these sensors can support DSOs managing the complexities introduced by high levels of distributed generation, especially for renewable sources.

Distribution networks today are under increasing strain due to several factors including the need for reliable power delivery, ageing infrastructure, extreme weather conditions, the integration of renewable energy sources, and evolving energy consumption demands. These challenges can compromise network reliability and increase the likelihood of power outages.

The session will highlight how digitalisation in the electrical sector provides critical insights that enhance network reliability. By harnessing actionable data, operators can pinpoint issues, make informed decisions, and prevent costly damage to equipment.

Megger’s solutions are designed to gather and analyse this data, enabling utilities to minimise power outages and identify vulnerabilities within their grids, thereby reducing risks significantly.

The session is scheduled to take place at 09:35am on June 12, 2024, directly after National Grid’s Ben Godfrey delivers the opening keynote. With Megger also supporting the event as a platinum sponsor.

Electrical Review will have all the details regarding the other sessions and panels available at Powered On Live 2024 as we count down to the event over the next two weeks.

For those wishing to register to attend Powered On Live 2024, registrations are open now at the Powered On Live website.
