JTL marks National Apprenticeship Week with new initiatives, training centre

As National Apprenticeship Week begins, JTL, is initiating celebrations with the launch of 'A Day in the Life' videos featuring two electricians

As National Apprenticeship Week begins, JTL, is initiating celebrations with the launch of ‘A Day in the Life’ videos featuring two electricians, Ben Gillin and Demi Whitehead, who have recently completed their qualifications.

Ben Gillin, now employed at Lloyd Morris Electrical in Wrexham, gained notable attention by securing second place in the SkillELECTRIC UK competition. His video gives an insight into his everyday tasks, including fitting control panels and wiring, which were part of the skills that stood out in the competition.

Demi Whitehead has transitioned to working at William Davis Homes in Derbyshire after finishing her electrotechnical apprenticeship with JTL. Her journey to the finals of World Skills SkillELECTRIC UK is documented in her video, showcasing her work on new housing developments and emphasising her industry success.

In addition to celebrating two apprentices who have seen success within the industry, JTL is also opening its 13th training centre in Eastbourne. According to JTL, the opening of this new centre “serves as evidence to JTL’s commitment to upskilling the future workforce and bridging the skills gap that exists in the building services engineering industry.”

Throughout National Apprenticeship Week, JTL will host open evenings at several locations to provide insights into their apprenticeship programs:

JTL Oxford: February 5th, 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

JTL Norwich: February 6th, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

JTL Yeovil: February 7th, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

JTL Birmingham: February 8th, 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm

These events are an opportunity for potential apprentices and employers to explore JTL’s facilities, interact with staff, and learn more about the apprenticeship options available.

Cathie Foster, Head of Marketing & Communications at JTL, shared, “We are delighted to showcase the achievements of our apprentices, Ben and Demi, through their ‘A Day in the Life’ videos. Their success reflects the high standards of our training programs and their commitment to their professional growth. National Apprenticeship Week is an important time to recognise the benefits that apprenticeships offer to individuals, businesses, and the community at large.”
