How does the UK solve renewables’ intermittency problem?

At the recent Powered On Live event, we gathered a panel of experts to ascertain how the UK can deal with the intermittency problem associated with renewables in its quest to go net zero.

Joining the panel were Damien Kelly, Innovation Lead, Prospering from the Energy Revolution, Innovate UK; Phil Steele, Future Technologies Evangalist, Octopus Energy; Jeremy Yapp, Head of Flexible Energy Systems, BEAMA; Caroline Bragg, Director of Policy and Research, The Association for Decentralised Energy; and Naomi Baker, Senior Policy Manager, Energy UK

During the nearly hour long panel session, each panellist discussed the way the grid is transforming to get ready for net zero. Whether it’s through smart tariffs or demand side response, each panellist offered a glimpse into the future of a renewable-dominant grid.
