EO Charging has announced a new initiative that it hopes will ease the transition to electric vehicles for many companies.

The initiative sees EO collaborating with Geotab and LEVL to create Europe’s first integrated EV charger and telematics solution for companies with a fleet of electric vehicles. Through this integration, Geotab’s software will provide EO’s customers with accurate vehicle data including live confirmation of vehicle registration attached to a charger, current mileage and real-time state of charge (SOC).

EO notes that the key benefits of the integration include:

  • Save up to 50% on fuel costs – ICE Ford Transit average 22p per mile compared to electric vehicles averaging at 11p per mile.
  • Accident and insurance costs cut by up to 40%
  • Drivers are up to 50% more productive whilst on-route
  • Driver behaviour improvements result in 27% more range in an EV
  • 33% reduction in poor driving incidents when adopting EV

Charlie Jardine, CEO and founder of EO, commented, “We’re excited to launch the first integrated charging and telematics system in Europe and we’re confident it will help accelerate the rate and efficiency of fleet electrification.

“Combining Geotab’s fleet management software with our charge point management platform (EO Cloud) will help to create industry leading EV fleets with greater range, performance safety and productivity. This collaboration enhances our end-to-end fleet electrification solutions, which are used by many of the world’s biggest businesses and fleet operators, and provides even greater analysis and performance optimisation to our offering.”

The integration relationship will be facilitated from the UK by LEVL Telematics – Geotab European EV Reseller of the year 2020, a provider of fleet management and telematics solutions specialising in the end-to-end EV solution.

Andrew Pearce, sales and marketing director and co-founder of LEVL Telematics, added, “We are thrilled to be working with EO Charging to offer our clients an integrated vehicle charging solution that is connected with our market-leading EV telematics platform through the Geotab software.

“Working with the team at EO to offer Europe’s first EV charging and integrated telematics solution enhances our ability to offer our customers a full end to end EV transition.”
