Morrison Utility Services (MUS), part of M Group Services, has celebrated rising talent across its organisation by holding its first Apprenticeship Awards event.

The awards ceremony, held at Wyboston Lakes Resort, celebrated the achievement, hard work and growth of people who have recently completed their MUS apprenticeships under the UK Power Networks, Western Power Distribution, Yorkshire Water and National Grid contracts.

Managing director – utilities Adam Gosnold commented, “This is a great success for our apprentices, indeed for the utilities division, and it is hugely important that our senior managers continue to invest in further career development for all those who wish to progress within their chosen field of engineering. This milestone in merely the end of the beginning for these young people and I sincerely hope that they take every opportunity to create a great future with our business. I would also like to acknowledge the contribution from a number of our managers who have supported our apprenticeship programmes thus far.”

M Group Services HR director Colin Jellicoe added, “We work hard to provide excellent career paths for people in our business. Our people are our greatest asset and our apprentices are the future of our business. It is key we help people to realise their full potential and enjoy a fulfilling, life-long career in the utilities sector.”

Speaking to the audience of apprentices, Jellicoe said, “The training you have received over the last two to three years is just the foundation of your success. Every day is a learning day. Be ambitious. Make a difference today, tomorrow and everyday thereafter.”
