Marshall-Tufflex has been announced as a finalist for the Plastics Recycling Awards 2020 for its PVC-U range of trunking and conduit systems.

Marshall-Tufflex is a finalist in the ‘Building and Construction Product of the Year’ category for its PVC-U range of trunking and conduit systems, which use 80% recycled material on average, across the whole range.

The Marshall-Tufflex range of products will be judged by a number of experts, including Ton Emans, PRE president, as well as professor Kim Ragaert of Ghent University, Willemijn Peeters, CEO of Searious Business and Plastics Recycling Ambassador 2018 and Gian de Belder, principal scientist and packaging technologist at Procter & Gamble and Plastics Recycling Ambassador 2019. The finalists in the ‘Building and Construction Product of the Year’ category will be judged on innovations and the implications those bring to the building and construction sector.

“We’ve invested heavily into ensuring our manufacturing practices are environmentally responsible over the past few decades, and we are delighted to have been shortlisted in recognition of our circular economy initiatives and commitment to changing the industry,” said Paul Hetherington, CEO of Marshall-Tufflex.

“We have saved over 3,600 tonnes of recycled material from reaching landfill, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. We are therefore thrilled the Plastics Recycling Awards provides an important platform to help the cause and raise awareness. We encourage the industry to join us in working towards a circular economy.”

Ton Emans added, “Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists in each category. The standard is higher than ever this year and the judges will have a difficult task to single out the winners.”

Winners will be announced at the Plastics Recycling Show in Amsterdam on 26 March 2020.
