Appointment of UK & European Managing Director
The LED Group is pleased to announce the recent promotion of John Humphery to UK & European Managing Director
In his new position, John will draw on his extensive sales and marketing experience to bring fresh energy and a harmonised approach to our European business.
With an HND in Business & Finance, John first joined the LED Group in 2006 as a Regional Sales Manager, where he demonstrated strong leadership skills and delivered record sales results year on year. He was promoted to UK and Ireland Sales & Marketing Director in 2012, where his broad knowledge of the business, market place and his previous track record in Marketing stood him in great stead to drive the business to further success. John joined the main Board of Directors in 2014 and has successfully directed his teams across the UK and Ireland over the last 5 years with a real ‘can do attitude’ culminating in a record year in 2016 for the division.
John says, “The development of a harmonised European sales and marketing approach is a key element of our group growth strategy. I am delighted to take on this new leadership challenge and very much look forward to capitalising on our sales people’s superb capabilities, excellent brand equity and exciting product portfolio in order to maximise our global reach.”
Appointment of Commercial Director
The LED Group is also pleased to announce the recent promotion of a key member of its Sales Management, Mick Slein (Junior) to Commercial Director.
Mick first joined the business in 2008 as a graduate of DCU and participated in the LED Group Graduate Programme, working across various departments and showing great capabilities in several areas. He left the LED Group thereafter to gain experience in another company and during his time with Enterprise RentA-Car he became the youngest ever Branch Manager in history across Ireland and the UK.
In 2011 Michael moved to Sydney to join the LED Group sales team which was at the early stages of formation. He was appointed New South Wales State Manager in 2012, and achieved double digit growth each year between 2012-2015. Michael returned to Ireland in January 2016 to take up the role of Irish Sales Manager, resulting in the LED Group’s most successful year in the Irish market since it commenced business in 1984.
January 2017 see’s Michael take on the role of Commercial Director, where he will lead all teams dealing with the supply chain (NPD, RD&I, QC and Purchasing). In this new position Michael will consolidate the business strategy around supply chain management; also continuing to implement the sales and marketing strategy in the Irish Market with a new report taking on the role of Irish Sales Manager.
Mick’s global experience around team building, sales and supplier management ensure that he will lead the LED Group’s greatest investment areas of RD&I and NPD into a future that looks very promising for the ROBUS brand. For more information, please email [email protected]
