Lighting control at Langley College

Electrical Review Logo

Installation of a range of lighting controls at Langley College, supplied by CP Northern, is helping East Berkshire College to reduce its energy costs and carbon footprint by optimising the use of lighting in key areas.

In the main, the control strategy uses CP LCM’s connected to CP detectors linked to simple marshalling boxes to provide absence detection and prevent unnecessary use of lighting in unoccupied areas. In areas where there is sufficient penetration of natural daylight, the absence detection is linked with dimming to deliver further energy savings.

In addition, Lighting Control Modules with Scene Set Panels have been installed in the new Lecture theatre, Innovation Lounge, Innovation Lab and some classrooms, which have been refurbished as part of the multi-million pound makeover of the College.
