Pierlite, along with partner – WF Electrical Southampton – recently completed the installation of several products into the new De Vere hotel, the Grand Harbour in Southampton.
After a recent plant room failure that caused extensive water damage to the ballroom of Southampton’s 4 star DeVere Grand Harbour Hotel, an opportunity was identified to replace eighty-six 70w HQI downlights with a more cost-effective, energy efficient option.
The hotel staff were keen to ensure that any new downlights could be operated using the original Lutron phase dimming panel, providing a full dimmable solution for the room, without having to re-install a new panel.
WF Electrical, the local trade counter in Southampton called in Pierlite to provide a solution to replace the downlights. With no control pair going to the installed fittings and lack of access due to the ornate solid ceiling, Pierlite’s Starburst downlight range was suggested. Dimmable with any leading or trailing edge dimmer once the minimum load has been met, Starburst would easily fit into the existing Lutron control panel.
