Utility control centre

Electrical Review Logo

Design verified – These are the key words from the new IEC assembly standards 61439-1  &2:2009. In the past much emphasis has been placed on obtaining an ASTA Certificate, which covers the short circuit withstand capability of an assembly.

What about the earthing system? Temperature rise? Impulse withstand? Insulation properties? The new standard addresses all these other requirements in a comprehensive way ensuring that all characteristics are treated with the respect they deserve, and every enclosure design must be verified against the appropriate test criteria. Rolla have approached the design of the new utility control centre with this in mind, and all verifications on the basic enclosure and busbar system have been done by testing (not by calculation, not by design rules) giving our customers and end users greater peace of mind. Rolla UCC – design verified.
