Lighting up zebras

Electrical Review Logo

Sill Lighting’s 454 Cityliter floodlights have found an unusual application in the lighting of zebra crossings in Hertfordshire.
The application has been so successful that some 40 zebra crossings throughout the county have been equipped with the luminaires over the last four to five years. Sill’s 454 luminaires, being flat glass fittings, produce no upward glare or lightspill and hence are not offensive to nearby residents. These IP67 projectors have diecast aluminium bodies and are available with a choice of high quality optics for compact fluorescent or metal halide lamps up to 150W.
