Luxo Travel Downlighters specified for 30 St Mary Axe

Luxo has supplied 1700 of its Travel 2310-226-7 recessed downlighters, with twin 26 watt lamps and low glare turbo cross louver, to Hills Electrical for installation on level’s 28 to 34 of 30 St Mary Axe – affectionately known as the Gherkin. 252 of the luminaries are for emergency applications and 438 have Dali dimming.

Luxo’s latest Travel downlighter with turbo cross louver is designed for recessed ceilings installation where high lumen output and low glare is required. It uses horizontally mounted FSM compact fluorescent lamp’s and has a patented reflector design.

30 St Mary Axe, is London’s first ecological tall building and an instantly recognisable addition to the city’s skyline. Designed by Lord Foster for Swiss Re, one of the world’s leading reinsurance companies, it has 46,000 square metres of office space, 40 stories, including offices and retail space accessed from a newly created public plaza. The lounge bar and restaurant, for tenants and their guests, at the top of the building is the hightest in london and offers a spectacular 360-degree panorama across the capital.
